ગુજરાતી સાહિત્ય પરિષદના સો વરસ
ગુજરાતી સાહિત્ય પરિષદ આ વર્ષે સો વર્ષ પૂરા કરે છે એ અવસરે આરપાર મેગેઝીને આ વખતના અંકમાં પરિષદના ભૂતકાળ, વર્તમાન અને ભાવિ પર કેટલાંક વાંચવા ને વિચારવા યોગ્ય લેખો પ્રગટ કર્યા છે. પરિષદના ઈતિહાસ પરનો લેખ ખાસ વાંચવાલાયક છે. પરિષદનું રાજકારણ મનને દુ:ખે છે. સાહિત્ય એ જનમાનસનુ પ્રતિબિંબ છે, એમ પરિષદએ આપણા સાહિત્યકારોનું જ પ્રતિબિંબ છે.

I have no direct experience of sahitya Parishad, however, like most other oraganization, i have heard many a times that there is high level of autocracy (under the name of democracy) by a group of very polished and higly acclaimed persons (so called guards of Gujarati literature). From my personal experience, please try to keep distance of very polished and higley educated guards of litearature. They are vey impressive ( due to their formal education) but not very trustful and very less likely a true human being!
It is wonderful to be poet or novelist without being member of any such organization. many very good poets who are beloved to all of us had (have) never been the member of this organization.
After all democracy is a british propagenda and eventually it is the autocracy of a number of parties. How may candidates of no-party are winning the election? The reason is, we the society is highly ignorant and like the glorifying things around us.
Gandhiji told in his autobiography:
Any progressive activity started by individual is always very slow and unattractive to masses but onnce it takes momentum it creates huge impact for years….
I belive that your (an of other bloggers) work is far more appreciable and society oriented, without any personal benefit (except self joy) than the Gujarati Sahitya Parishad.
