ઉત્તમ ગુજરાતી સાહિત્ય : એક યાદી
ઉત્તમ ગુજરાતી સાહિત્યની એક યાદી શ્રી અશોક મેઘાણીની વેબસાઈટ પર જોઈ. એમા એમણે ગુજરાતીમાં ‘ક્લાસિક’ ગણાય એવા બધી જાતના પુસ્તકો – નવલકથાઓ, કવિતા, નિબંધો, વાર્તાઓ, હાસ્યરસ, આત્મકથાનકો અને નાટકોનો -સમાવેશ કર્યો છે. ગુજરાતી સાહિત્યના રસિકો માટે આ યાદી રસપ્રદ છે. આમાંથી તમે કેટલા પુસ્તકો વાંચ્યા છે? આવી જ એક યાદી આરપાર મેગેઝીને ગયા વર્ષે પ્રગટ કરેલી એ અહીં સરખાવવા જેવી છે.

It is really an excellent effort by Mr. MEghani. I was just curious to know, how many out books I have read. I found 10 books I have read
This list brought me to my school days. All my Gujarati teacher become live in front of my eyes. I remember some of the books, we come to know as we had one lesson from it, as part of syllabus. Many books I borrowed and read from library at my native place. Few books from friends.
Today I realize, oh! Those books are part of best 200 books list. I also realized that for last two years, after coming to Bangalore, I have not read any Gujarati book!! Really the literature gives us vision to understand the shuttle aspects of human relationship and society.
