ક્રાઉં, ક્રાંઉં કાગડાથી ખીચોખીચ લીમડામાં કીડીએ ખોંખારો ખાધો,
તમને નથીને કાંઇ વાંધો?
માખીએ મધપૂડા છોડી દીધા ને હજી આંખ આડા કાન કરે સંત ?
લીમડા ઉપરથી ઊતરતી કીડીનો ગુંદરના ટીપાંમાં અંત?
ખરી જતાં પાંદડાંને ફરી પાછા ડાળીએ ગુંદરથી જાવ હવે સાંધો.
ક્રાઉં, ક્રાંઉં…
આંબાની ડાળીએ લીંબોળી ઝૂલતી ને લીમડાની ડાળીએ કેરી?
તરસી કીડીને માથે ગાગર ઢોળાય છતાં પંડિતની આંખ હજી બ્હેરી?
કીડીના પડછાયે જંગલ ઢંકાઈ ગયું જાવ હવે તડકાને બાંધો!
ક્રાઉં, ક્રાંઉં કાગડાથી ખીચોખીચ લીમડામાં કીડીએ ખોંખારો ખાધો,
તમને નથીને કાંઇ વાંધો?

અત્યારે દેશ આખો સહિષ્ણુતા-અસહિષ્ણુતાની ચર્ચાના ચકડોળે ચડ્યો છે અને ચારેકોર કાગડાઓએ ક્રાઉં ક્રાઉં મચાવ્યું છે એવામાં એકાદી કીડી ખોંખારો ખાવાની હિંમત કરે એની સમાંતરે સંત-પંડિતને juxtapose કરીને કવિતાને કવિએ અનોખી ધાર કાઢી આપી છે.
