ગુજરાતી ભાષાના 200 શ્રેષ્ટ પુસ્તકો : તમને કયું ગમે છે ?

આરપાર મેગેઝીને એક ખાસ અંકમા ગુજરાતી ભાષાના 200 શ્રેષ્ટ પુસ્તકોની યાદી પ્રગટ કરી છે. દરેક પુસ્તકના નામ સાથે એનો ટૂંકો પરિચય પણ આપેલો છે. આ યાદીમાં દરેક જાતના પુસ્તકોનો સમાવેશ કરેલો છે.

અંગ્રેજી ભાષામાં આવી યાદીઓનો શિરસ્તો છે, ટોપ 10 કે ટોપ 100 પુસ્તકોની યાદી બધે જોવા મળે છે. પણ ગુજરાતીમાં આવી યાદી પહેલી જ વાર જોઈ.

આ યાદીમાંથી તમે કેટલા પુસ્તકો વાંચેલા છે ? આ યાદીમાંથી તમારું મનપસંદ પુસ્તક કયું ? આ યાદીમાં ન હોય, પણ ઉમેરવા જેવું કયું પુસ્તક છે ? ચર્ચા માટે મોકળું મેદાન છે. આપના અભિપ્રાય કોમેન્ટમાં જાણાવશો.

    આ યાદીમાં મારાં સૌથી પ્રિય પાંચ પુસ્તકો : અમે બધા, અલગારી રખડપટ્ટી, થોડા નોખા જીવ, ધરતીની આરતી અને વિનોદની નજરે.

    આરપારનો આ અંક ખરેખર સુંદર છે. તેમા ઘણા સરસ પુસ્તકોની યાદી છે અને તે બધા વાંચવાનો સમય ક્યારેક તો મળશે જ તેવી આશા છે. આ પુસ્તકોમાં મારા પ્રિય એવા ક. મા. મુનશીનાં પુસ્તકોનો સમાવેશ થયો છે. કથારસથી ભરપૂર અને અલંકૃત ભાષાથી દરેક પાત્રને તાદ્શ કરતા ગુજરાતનો નાથ, પાટણની પ્રભુતા, રાજાધિરાજ વાંચવાની મજા જ કઈક ઓર છે, એ સાથે જ બક્ષીની ધારદાર કલમે લખાયેલ મહાજાતિ ગુજરાતી, ગુજરાતી હોવા બદલ ગૌરવ પ્રેરે છે, જો કે બક્ષીનામાનો સમાવેશ નથી થયો એ નવાઈ પમાડે છે. અન્ય પુસ્તકોમાં પ્રવાસ સાહિત્યમાં સુંદર ભાત પાડતા અમૃતલાલ વેંગડની “પરિક્ર્મા નર્મદામૈયાની” અને કાકા કાલેલકરની “હિમાલયની સફર” (શિર્ષક કદાચ 100% સાચુ ન પણ હોય) સમાવી શકાયા હોત. મારા મનમાં વિશ્વદર્શન પહેલા ભારતદર્શન પ્રથમ કરવાની ઈચ્છા આ બન્ને પુસ્તકોએ જગાવી છે.

    ખરી વાત છે, સિદ્ધાર્થ, ‘મહાજાતી ગુજરાતી’ એ ગુજરાતી ગૌરવનું પ્રતિક છે. ચંદ્રકાંત બક્ષીને વાંચવાની મઝા જ અલગ છે. કાકાસાહેબનું ‘હિમાલયનો પ્રવાસ’ પણ માણવાલાયક છે. એ જ રીતે તાજેતરના વર્ષોમાં પ્રિતી સેનગુપ્તાએ ગુજરાતી પ્રવાસવર્ણનોમાં નવી ભાત પાડી છે એ ખાસ માણવા જેવી છે.

    It is really an excellent effort by AARPAAR. I was just curious to know, how many out books out of 200 I have read. I found 9 books I have read and 9 more books I have read partially. I have watched popular TV Serial Mr. Yogi. After reading this article only I came to know that it is from a Gujarati Book Kimbal RevanWood.

    This article bring me to my school days. All my Gujarati teacher become live in front of my eyes. I remember some of the books, we come to know as we had one lesson from it, as part of syllabus. Many books I borrowed and read from library at my native place. Few books from friends. Few novels are introduced by Chitralekha weekly magazine.

    Today I realize, oh! Those books are part of best 200 books list. I also realized that for last two years, after coming to Bangalore, I have not read any Gujarati book!! Really the literature gives us vision to understand the shuttle aspects of human relationship and society.
